1. About HavenPath
HavenPath ("HavenPath", "we", "us") operates thehavenpath.com and the HavenPath mobile and web app — a survivor-safe navigation tool for women, mothers, and caregivers seeking shelter, recovery, legal, financial, and healing resources.
HavenPath is not emergency services. It is not a substitute for 911, a licensed therapist, attorney, physician, shelter intake, or law enforcement. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For confidential 24/7 domestic-violence support, call 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788. For suicide or mental-health crisis, call or text 988.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use HavenPath. HavenPath is not designed for or directed at children under 18. By creating an account you affirm you meet this age requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password, PIN, duress PIN, and safe phrase confidential. Tell us at legal@thehavenpath.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may delete your account at any time from Delete my account. Deletion permanently removes profile, plan, journal, gratitude, milestones, contacts, places, evidence, and credentials. Anonymized aggregate counts that already rolled into public impact totals remain — they cannot be traced back to you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Use HavenPath to harass, threaten, dox, impersonate, or surveil any person — including a survivor, partner, child, advocate, or staff member.
- Submit false partner, therapist, shelter, or faith-community listings.
- Record, screenshot, or republish another user's words from support rooms.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract another user's data.
- Use HavenPath to evade lawful court orders or to abduct a child in violation of custody.
Violations may result in immediate suspension and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
5. AI companion ('Haven')
Haven is an AI chat companion. Haven is not a therapist, counselor, doctor, lawyer, or crisis worker. Replies are generated by a third-party language model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on Haven for medical, legal, psychiatric, or emergency decisions. If you mention self-harm, suicide, overdose, or active danger, Haven will surface 988, 911, and 1-800-799-7233 — please use those resources.
6. Resources, partners, and third parties
Shelter, treatment, legal-aid, and faith listings come from public directories (e.g. SAMHSA findtreatment.gov, HUD, LSC, DomesticShelters, Zippopotam) and from partners we verify on a best-effort basis. Availability changes constantly. Always call ahead if it is safe. HavenPath does not guarantee shelter space, treatment openings, eligibility, or the conduct of any third-party provider.
7. User-generated content (rooms, journals, gratitude, plans)
You retain ownership of what you write. You grant HavenPath a limited license to store and display it back to you, and — for moderated rooms only — to other room participants. We do not sell, train external models on, or publish your content.
Rooms are moderated. You may block any author. You may report abuse to legal@thehavenpath.com. We remove content that violates §4 and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
8. Payments & subscriptions
Free survivor accounts are always free. Paid Support and Sponsor tiers are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Cancel anytime from Account. Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact legal@thehavenpath.com.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
HavenPath is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, HavenPath disclaims all warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement) and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make based on information presented in the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits — in that case the limits apply only to the extent permitted.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify HavenPath against claims arising from your misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes prompt a new in-app acceptance banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Texas, unless your local consumer law provides otherwise.
